Title: Painting A Blank Canvas
Medium: Pencil
Dimensions: 18" x 28"
Date Completed: 2019
Additional details: This is a Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key and Gold Medal award-winning self portrait of myself painting on a drapery that is also currently sitting in the D.C. Art Now Exhibition in the front lobby of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education building. While drawing this, I was thinking of my future in fashion design. I place my brush on the blank canvas as strokes emerge regardless of my gestures. My gestures and the resulting strokes resemble the abstractness of what the future holds for my aspirations.
